Jazz bands and Egyptian dancers created a carnival atmosphere at the St Wilfrid's Hospice Rainbow Day.
The highlight of the event was the construction of a 40-foot rainbow, made from hundreds of messages of remembrance and celebration.
Supporters gathered in Priory Park for the annual fundraising event on Saturday (July 19), which in the past has featured a balloon launch.
Hilary Strong, a strong supporter of the hospice, came up with the idea of building the rainbow because it is a symbol of hope.
