Adventurer Daniel Harman pedalled away from Steyning High Street amid shouts of 'good luck' at the start of a fundraising bike ride to South Africa and back.
Daniel (23), of Maudlin Lane, Steyning, aims to spend the next two years cycling down the west coast of the African continent and returning via the east coast – a total of about 15,000 miles. He also wants to raise £15,000 for the charity Farm Africa, which helps farmers and herders in eastern South Africa.

His route will take him through Europe, crossing the straits of Gibraltar to Morocco, passing through Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Angola, Namibia and on to Cape Town.
